MTS Sponsored Research
The American Lung Association of Massachusetts in conjunction with the national American Lung Association provides funding for research. Both clinical and basic science research applications are welcomed. Applications are submitted to the national ALA office for initial review and may be funded at the national level. Applications that are not funded nationally are then considered for funding at the local Massachusetts level. A committee of MTS members reviews the projects along with the results of the national review and a decision is then made. The currently funded projects are listed below.
How to apply
All applications for ALA funded research (local and national) go through the national office. You can download the forms (link opens a new browser window) to apply for research grant funding or you can contact us directly if you have further questions.
Deadlines to remember
Completed applications are due at the national ALA office by September 1 each year. Applications should not be sent directly to the MTS office.
When will I hear if I have been funded?
The decision about funding is usually available by the following February.
